Jeffrey Miller's estate in St. Helena, California is a historic vineyard estate with a rich legacy. The property was created from Captain Thomas Amesbury's 1886 pre-prohibition stone structure, radiating luxury and character.

Miller commissioned Phelps to create a sculpture for his mountaintop property overlooking St. Helena. Miller’s dad bought a large scale Desert Dreamer from Phelps in 1999 and he therefore wanted something other than a reclining figure image. Phelps & Miller kicked around ideas and came up with this Sisyphus inspired image of the figure beginning to push a sphere up twin rails. The original placement was to be in the front yard with the rails resting against the house. However, it was decided that a better, more prominent location for the piece would be near the swimming pool as this is the gathering place on the property. The hardscape was redesigned to accommodate this move. The single staircase was changed to a double which allowed the piece to be centered between the stairs which created a beautiful symmetry.

Mr. Miller, known as a vineyardist and winemaker, has been involved in the wine industry in Napa Valley, celebrating wins at events like Auction Napa Valley in St. Helena.
